Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics
CBIT
What is CBIT?

Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics, CBIT, is the behavioral therapy protocol for treatment of tic disorders. CBIT practitioners receive a specialty certification and training that allows them to work exclusively with individuals with Tourette's or other tics disorders. The CBIT protocol includes psychoeducation, body awareness training, habit reversal training, competing response training, social supports, and functional-based interventions across 8 sessions. This protocol assists with both tic management and overall performance in daily activities. CBIT is now considered to be the first line of defense for tic treatment across the world.

Who provides CBIT sessions?
Stepping Stones is proud to announce that our clinic has two certified CBIT therapists on staff. Kelly Hooks, OTR/L, and Jane Guy, OTR/L, offer CBIT sessions face-to-face and via telehealth.
